Anyone who enjoys, or would like to explore, creativity and art, and also to spend time with God in a worshipful, contemplative atmosphere will enjoy this day.
As you’ll know if you’ve been before, the morning is relaxed and chatty, experimenting with various materials, while the afternoon comprises a time of meditation using music and scripture, followed by a quiet, personal, creative response. Nine or so similar events have taken place over the last few years, which proved to be a very positive experience for those who attended; so be encouraged, even if you feel you need to be a little bit brave to come along (do chat to me if you need any reassurance).
The cost is £10, however, don’t let that put you off if it seems a lot, as a few free places are available on request. All materials are provided, though do bring your own if that’s what you’d prefer. Refreshments are provided on arrival and hot drinks throughout the day (please bring a packed lunch and any cold drinks you like).
A theme and outline, with timings for the day will be provided nearer the time for those who register. If you have any questions or would like to know more, please do contact me by email or on 07946 592 117. If you are definitely interested, please confirm by email or text or PM via Facebook https://www.facebook.com/sally.baker.1806.
NB: The room only holds a limited number comfortably, so pre-booking and pre-payment is necessary to secure your place … so why not do that as soon as you know you are free to come! (A deposit of £5 would be appreciated, if that’s easier than the whole amount; thank you. Email me if you need my address.)
Please feel free to forward this to anyone else you think may enjoy being contemplative and creative. (I have some postcard-type flyers if anyone would like some for friends/church.)
Another Contemplative Creativity day is due to be held on Saturday 25th April at a church in Meltham, (Huddersfield sort of area); here is the link in case you are interested or want to pass it on: https://learning.leeds.anglican.org/event/contemplative-creativity/
