As God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Colossians 3:12
We all like hearing things like we are loved, dearly loved, His own, His chosen people etc. Good! However sometimes we fail to realize what it really means to be His chosen people, His dearly beloved…
The Scripture is very clear on the roles a dearly beloved of the Lord ought to play. There is a dress code if you will for His chosen people. We are expected to wear compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Now, let’s pause there and analyze ourselves.
How compassionate are we? When we came across someone in need did we walk past them or stopped to help? Are we kind to one another or rude always? Humble or proud? Gentle or harsh?
Patient or hurried? Those who can say for sure you have mastered it all, you are obviously His chosen people, holy & dearly loved!
Others like me, who have the slightest doubt about our compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness or patience, let us work towards improving in that area. Doesn’t mean we are loved any less. We are still His chosen people, holy and dearly loved.
Remember He first loved us even while we were sinners? So let us work to fit in to His perception of us.
As God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, let us clothe ourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.
