There is an important divestment movement aiming to encourage the removal of funds from investment in fossil fuels and putting money into positive climate-friendly actions.
Most of us have bank accounts. Most banks invest our money in destructive fossil fuels. We should look for positive alternatives.
Among the banks, building societies etc which have positive criteria on where to beneficially use our money are Triodos, Ecology Building Society and Impax Asset Management Group. Nationwide and the Co-op bank have negative criteria which prevent them investing in certain global heating activities.

An anecdote: a doctor preserved many lives in her work. She investigated how her pension fund invested money and found to her horror that several of its top funds were in oil and tobacco. She felt she was probably killing more people than she saved.
